FRANCE silver €10 program 2010

Mr Beaux, monnaie de paris director, annouced the new €10 silver coin program for 2010 and 2011. 26 differents coins will be mint and put in circulation in september. These coins will be dedicated to the different region of the country (24 about metropolitan and 4 about oversea territory). These coins will be available in post office in there own region , official mdp dealers will be autorized to ale complete set. The engraver is Joachim Jimenez, the man who created the 1 and 2 french euro design.

These  coins will be available (i post office) at face valueat the same time in september, the reverses sides  will be all similar (same than €10 2009 sower) and obverse side depict map, flag and armory of the region.The quantity will be different depending of the population of each region. Coins will be mint again next year with 2011 millesime.

This serie is inspire by american quarter states and German €2 comemorative about länder.

AUSTRIA €50 gold coin "Karl Ladsteiner" postpone

Austria mint inform : €50 gold coin postponed,  the issue of the last coin of the series “Celebrated Physicians of Austria” because it was not possible anymore to clarify beyond doubt the personal rights with the descendants in North America.

Therefore, the Austrian Mint is planning to issue a coin with another distinguished physician at a later date. The new coin is expected to come out by the end of May. We will let you know further details in good time.

BERLIN World money fair

On Friday, January 29, 2010 the 39th World Money Fair will open – taking place in Berlin for the fourth time. Be there when international mints and top-class dealers, suppliers and enthusiastic numismatists get together at the Estrel Convention Center.This numismatic event is the time to meet worlds mainly important institutes, coins makers ,collectors representants and coins dealer. This year the guest of honor is South Africa. At the Media Forum of the World Money Fair 2010 selected international mints present their current coin programs and give account of innovative developments and future-oriented projects. The Media Forum will take place on Friday, January 29, 2010, 10:30 am to 2:00 pm (approx). We cordially invite international experts, representatives of the press as well as interested collectors and fair visitors. However, we would like to point out that all lectures will be held in English

To celebrate Vancouver winter games, the Austria mint will issue 2 €5 silver coins. One is dedicated to ski jumping and the second to snowboard.

These coins will be available in 2 differents quality, UNC and special uncirculated, to be noted that special uncirculated ones will be packaged in special blister.

MICRO STATES Mintages quantity updated

Following a ECB recommendation, the 3 micro states (Vatican, Monaco, SanMarino) could update their mintages quantity.

Vatican: a convention is now signed, the mintage will be now to 2.300.000€ , more than half will be put in circulation at face value by Vatican shops and also mixed in Italian rolls.

SanMarino : negociation are in progress and will be signed in january, the same mintage than Vatican state will be applied.

Monaco: also in negociation, a convention will be probably signed in 2010 for the same amount .

A new state appears on the field: Andorra, ECB is actually negociate a convention and hope to find a solution during the 3 first months of the year. We can hope find Andorran's own euro in 2011.
