AUSTRIA €50 gold Karl Landsteiner

Landsteiner made numerous contributions to both pathological anatomy, histology and immunology, all of which showed, not only his meticulous care in observation and description, but also his biological understanding. But his name will no doubt always be honoured for his discovery in 1901 of, and outstanding work on, the blood groups, for which he was given the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1930.

MONACO 2009 BU set in Monacophil

The Monacophil exibition was the so much awaited moment of the putting for sale of the Monaco 2009 boxed set.

The event was important enought because it was about the issuing of the first € series in BU quality since the accession to the throne of its Highness Prince Albert II and also since the change of the common side in 2007.

The putting for sale and the conditions in wichit took place is more than questionable as well on the organization's plan as on that of the distribution way.

To obtain this precious box, one needed first of all to make a purchase of stamps for an amount of €80 at the OETP's stand. According to informations communicated before, it was stipulated that each person could purchase a maximum of 3 BU sets, but  the reality  was completly different, each one could easily being able to get much more than the imposed threshold. Well organized teams, coming from many countries for a systematic collecting were to pick out.

This sale unfoled under terrible conditions, up to the limit of the elementary safety requirements.
